Professional and Ethical Working

Picture

My training qualifications have been attained via a course accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such I work within the BACP's ethical guidelines. This provides you with assurance that I will be providing you with a high quality and safe service.

Part of working ethically means that I attend regular clinical supervision to keep me accountable, and to inform my practice and ensure that I have the best interest of my clients in mind. Furthermore, I am unable to take on anybody as a client who is already accessing therapy or counselling elsewhere, as this would be unethical, and having two counsellors at the same time will likely be a very draining experience for you.

In addition to this I am unable to work with anyone who is:

  • Under a Community Mental Health Team or a Crisis Team
  • Has been diagnosed with a complex mental health condition
  • Somebody who I know or have a personal connection with
