Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get started?

You can get in touch with me on any of my contact details to make an enquiry. We will then arrange for us to have an initial consultation session to give us an opportunity to get to know one another and allow me to make an assessment of what you feel you are struggling with. We will then discuss how I can best support you, and I will answer any questions you have. You will then be given an opportunity to book in for another session.
What is therapy like and how does it work?

It can sometimes be easy to feel that there is a 'right' way to act in therapy, however this could not be further from the truth. The idea of therapy is that it creates a space where you can be your true self and speak about the things that you may not feel comfortable talking to anyone else about. By speaking freely and openly about your feelings, this can help to gain a full understanding of them, which often can help to develop new perspectives and pave the way for new realisations and ways of thinking. The relationship between you and the therapist is more about guidance and support alongside you in your journey to help you to find your own way through your struggles, rather than dictating what you should or should not be doing. As such, therapy does require personal commitment from you to working toward this change, as by supporting and guiding you to make your own decisions in this process, any results that you do see will be far more sustainable.
Are you able to provide support for my specific struggle or difficulty?

There is no struggle too small that it does not deserve to receive support. If you feel that your struggles are having a significant impact on you then they will be taken seriously and treated with the utmost respect. In certain situations where you struggles are having a significant impact on you it may be possible that you require support from a more specialist service. Under my duty of care I will always be honest if I feel as though my skill set will not be sufficient to provide you with the level of support your struggles deserve. Should this be the case you will always be offered further information regarding other appropriate services so that you are supported in your ongoing search.
