Concerned about someone else?
If you are feeling worried that someone else and are concerned that they might be thinking about suicide, it's okay to ask them about it. Talking about suicide and bringing up the conversation does not increase the risk of someone taking their own life, but can offer a vital pathway to them getting some help with how they are feeling.

Ask a the person if they are experiencing suicidal thoughts

Listen, and show kindness

If someone tells you they are feeling suicidal, seek immediate professional support

Try to remove access to anything the person could use to harm themself

Look after yourself both physically and emotionally, don't put yourself at risk of harm and seek support for yourself as well

Do not promise to keep how they feel a secret and seek professional help
